I attended San Francisco State University for both undergraduate and graduate work, and received both a B.A. in Humanities with an emphasis in Creative Writing, and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Licensed since 2000, I have completed post Master's training in Expressive Arts Therapy, EMDR, TRM and Integrative Somatic Therapy. In December 2014 I completed a National Training in Brené Brown's Daring Way™ Model. I am currently gathering hours and experience to become a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator (www.brenebrown.com).
Some of the therapeutic settings in which I have worked include both public and private schools, TALK Line Family Support Center in San Francisco, where I was Director of the Parent Drop-In Center, and most recently Sherman Oaks Hospital PHP (since 2002), where I currently conduct process groups, healing drum circles, and dance/movement therapy groups with a variety of populations.
In addition, I am a senior faculty member of the Trauma Resource Institute (www.traumaresourceinstitute.com) and provide training and consultation for licensed clinicians, interns and para-professionals.
I have been in private practice since 2001. Although my specialization is in resolving trauma, I also work with a multitude of issues including grief recovery, aging, performance enhancement, early childhood, family and parenting issues, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions.
